« Sonoran Desert Auditory Hallucination » is an electroacoustic composition that is 3:04 in length. Source audio material used in the composition includes a field recording that I made in the Sonoran Desert National Monument in Maricopa, Arizona. The field recording was made May 2017.
The field recording took place at mid-day when desert temperatures reached 108 degrees. The desert was mostly silent except for the sound of an occasional bird or insect. On this day only the strong hot wind was consistent. In my recording I also included the sound of some objects that were left in the desert such as old beer cans. The intention of this piece is to give the listener the imaginary experience of being in the Sonoran desert in the extreme heat which is causing them to experience auditory hallucinations

from Wilmington, Delaware USA. I view my works as a synthesis of various sound art traditions including musique concrete, acousmatic music and radio art / radio theater. I have always been inspired by the pioneers in these fields such as Luc Ferrari, Jon Appleton, Francis Dhomont and Orson Welles. Additionally, I am also very much inspired by cinema and the works of directors such as Orson Welles, Antonioni, and Kubrick. In most cases I am attempting to make my compositions cinematic. I am attempting to make sonic films.
In my current project "Society's Realization of Itself" I strive to capture and present brief moments of the world we are living in. Part of my current compositional process is to research Youtube to locate videos made by ordinary people who are sharing their thoughts, beliefs and feelings about topics such as technology, morality, spirituality, sexuality, anxieties and fears. I am using the words of society to create a reflection of society in the constant state of realizing itself.
My work has been presented at the 2017 New York City Electro-Acoustic Music Festival and featured on Bernard Clarke's radio program Nova on RTE's Lyric FM, Phaune Radio from Montpellier, France as well as Radio Art International and Passeport International from CHOQ Radio in Montreal and Radio Musique Brut also in Canada.
