This recording was made as part of a musical project with The Peirua, a band of singers and musicians from the west coast of Espiritu Santo Island (Vanuatu) who play a style of music called String Band. For many years, I have been using field recordings in my compositions that I made myself during travels. This one has been recorded early in the morning in a forest close to Luganville, in an abandoned american military hospital full with ghosts statues. The “sirens” which appears at the beginning of the piece are played by ni-van guys. They are played with conchs and serve as a call between villages.

Depuis 1988, date de la sortie de “Détails”, son premier album, Laurent Pernice construit peu à peu son champ de bataille, lequel n’est pas loin de s’étendre à la planète entière. Il a réalisé aujourd’hui plus d’une quinzaine de CD en France, en Allemagne, en Russie, en Slovénie, en Suède, sans compter les collaborations
(au Brésil et ailleurs) et les compilations (au Japon et en Australie...). En parallèle à son œuvre personnelle, il travaille avec la compagnie Artonik (au sein de laquelle il se produit dans le monde entier), la compagnie Pixel 13, le groupe expérimental Palo Alto et le groupe d’électro-world Goldenberg & Schmuyle. Axe central de ses activités : Rendre ce monde un peu plus poétique en abrogeant musicalement toute frontière.
