«Sa Pa Soundwalk»
Jocelyn Lauzon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sa Pa Soundwalk is a short and simple piece, recollecting memories through a montage of instant phonographs I made during my morning walks in the Sa Pa region, in Lào Cai Province, northern Vietnam, in January 2015. Wake up to the sound of Red Junglefowls and wander in the narrow village streets among ducks, geese, chicks, people, trucks and motorcycles.
The simplicity of my initial approach is reflected in this composition made only from a succession of moments captured on location. These recordings are my early attempts and efforts at field recording and the beginning of an ever-expanding exploration path towards enjoying and studying life and the natural world through sound.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
L’Oiseau son is a nature sound recording project.
It began with my desire to explore, document, learn and understand through sound, the richness of our natural environment – birds and fauna, forests, countrysides, mountains, deserts, lakes and rivers, sea and sky.
I strive to make my sounds evocative. I want my phonography, when listened to, to open an immersive sound space in ourselves.
By sharing my recordings, I wish to inspire and move the listener through the beauty, diversity, fragility and strength of sound. I also hope to awaken a curiosity and sensitivity to the natural world, as well as a fascination for things too small or too big that are often overlooked.
You can listen for free to hours of dawn choruses, natural soundscapes and specific species recording on my website :
