rua is a tiny fishing village on the south-western shore of sumba, indonesia and home to immersive sonic landscapes: at dusk an insect concerto would dominate the air (dave-phillips.bandcamp.com/track/rua-dusk-concerto-beginning), at night time, frogs teeming in manifold rice paddies would sound throughout, creating a most psycho-active animal song experience (dave-phillips.bandcamp.com/track/rua-padi-frogs) and in the morning and afternoon, waves crashing onto the shore would offer hours of meditative, stereophonic delight.

dp re/searches and ponders existences and behaviourisms humanimalistically via audio de/construction, psycho-acoustics and sonic rituals. sound as communication in direct and primal form, a tool of metaphysics, a conscience, an unrestrained language. sound as a means to activate primordial shared emotions otherwise hidden under the debris of civilisation. a form of release is evoked, a cleansing, a sound catharsis opposing the omnipresent reduction of life. existential rumination suggesting awareness & environmental e/quality, getting in touch with sentient origins as with the realities of our times. dp rings in the era of humanimal.
solo works since 1987.
