This unretouched phonography was made in late 2011 around « La Sirena », the second Ranger station in the Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica.
In the early morning, the forest is quite calm in this period of the end of rainy season (few songs of insects).
We mostly hear the falling drops on the leaves, the rumble of the Pacific Ocean in the background and the territorial morning calls of the Howler monkeys. This unpublished document was taking part of quadraphonic recordings made as part as immersive sound installations project shown in London and Paris.
(i.e « Dry Wet Evergreen » at Gaîté Lyrique or « Cantus Animalis » in the main glasshouse of the National Museum of Natrural History. Some of other stereo recordings are also available on "Sempervirent" album published by Gruenrekorder in 2012.
