I recorded at around 6:00 am in the precincts of the temple called Kenninji-temple.
I didn't care about the religious area of the temple, so I chose it as a place to avoid traffic noise and to catch changes in environmental sounds and signs of other species.
I recorded on a cassette tape using VOR function of a portable tape recorder.
The microphone was installed at the edge of the pond, and it was recorded on and off repeatedly in response to sounds such as the water sound of the pond by carp, the sound of birds, the footsteps of worshipers, and the sound of cars passing by.
Frequent clicks sounds are generated by the VOR function.
This function is originally used for interviews, but I used it experimentally to extract only changes in environmental sounds and signs of living things.
This is a record of changes in morning time, as well as a record of changes in unvoiced or voiced, and environmental sounds as judged by the recorder's function.
VOR is an abbreviation for Voice Operated Recording, and it is a function that allows a microphone to detect sound above a certain level and start recording automatically. When the volume is reduced, recording automatically stops and the VOR recording pause mode is set. I chose a cassette tape recorder with a characteristic on / off trace.
